While active, the GPS location is populated for the RODS position and location data when the authorized user is utilizing the GPS application to maintain accurate, electronically logged records of duty status. The Simplex ELD Mobile App adheres to the US Federal regulations and the CCMTA’S ELD Technical Standard.
The Simplex ELD Mobile App properly logs events required by law. This data is only used to obtain and record an ELD event such as change of duty, ignition events, driving status, unidentified driving, etc.
The Simplex ELD Mobile App is not designed and is not intended to record driver activity outside of the driver’s shift. The driver is solely responsible for activating the monitoring device and turning the device on and off when applicable.
