It comes in two plans, Lite and Premium, and FMCSA’s registered ELD list shows it as SimpleX ELD 2 Go.
What is Simplex ELD?
Simplex ELD is a three-part system that records hours of service automatically and keeps the records your drivers need at roadside. Each part has a different user:
- The ELD hardware connects to the truck’s engine port. Each order includes a free adapter for a 9-pin or 6-pin port, and the unit connects to the driver’s mobile device over Bluetooth.
- The Simplex ELD 2 GO app runs on Android and iOS and comes with a user guide. Drivers use it to set duty status, complete electronic DVIRs, and show or send their logs during a DOT inspection.
- The web portal is where owners, dispatchers, and safety staff review driver logs, manage users and vehicles, and pull fuel and IFTA mileage reports.

Simplex ELD Lite vs. Premium: what is the difference?
Both plans include the core tools for logging hours, inspecting the truck, and handling a roadside inspection. Premium adds accident, maintenance, and advanced log-management tools.

Is Simplex ELD registered with FMCSA?
Yes. As of October 5, 2026, FMCSA’s registered ELD list shows SimpleX ELD 2 Go, model CUSGEOAP, software version 2.12 and above, with ELD identifier CAUS02. Federal rules let a carrier use only a device on that list (49 CFR 395.22(a)).
- How logs reach the officer: the registration lists telematic transfer by web service and email. The driver sends logs from the app’s roadside inspection screen.
- How to confirm your device: the log display and printout header must show the ELD ID (Appendix A to Subpart B of Part 395, section 4.8.1.3). Compare it with the identifier on FMCSA’s list.
- What registration means: FMCSA states that listed devices are self-certified by their providers and that it does not endorse any ELD. Our guide to ELD certification explains how that works.
An honest caveat: an earlier listing, SimpleX 2 Go (ELD identifier SIM2GO), was one of 14 devices FMCSA removed from the registered list on March 4, 2026. Since May 4, 2026, FMCSA has directed safety officials who find a driver using a removed device to cite 49 CFR 395.8(a)(1) and place the driver out of service (FMCSA ELD news). If your log header shows SIM2GO instead of CAUS02, contact our ELD team before your next trip.
How do I log in to Simplex ELD?
Fleet managers log in to the Simplex ELD Portal. You can also reach it, along with every other Simplex login, from our Client Portals page.
Drivers sign in to the Simplex ELD 2 GO app with the account their carrier creates. Federal rules make the carrier responsible for those accounts: each user gets a unique username, the driver’s license number and Social Security number can’t be used as the username, and each driver must log in with their own credentials (49 CFR 395.22(b) through (e)).

Simplex ELD 2 GO vs. Simplex2Go: which app is which?
They are two different apps. Simplex ELD 2 GO records hours of service; Simplex2Go is the mobile version of SimplexHub, our compliance dashboard.
- Simplex ELD 2 GO comes with the annual ELD subscription. It handles logs, GPS tracking, accident scene data collection, and work orders for repairs.
- Simplex2Go and SimplexHub show your ISS and BASIC scores, 24 months of inspections, violations, and crashes, and alerts for expiring permits and tax filings. See SimplexHub and Simplex2Go.
Who needs an ELD, and what must drivers carry?
A carrier must have its drivers record hours of service on an ELD unless an exception applies (49 CFR 395.8(a)). Paper logs are still allowed for drivers who:
- Need a record of duty status on no more than 8 days in any 30-day period.
- Drive in a driveaway-towaway operation where the vehicle driven is part of the shipment, or the vehicle transported is a motor home or recreational vehicle trailer.
- Drive a vehicle manufactured before model year 2000, as shown by the VIN on its registration.
What goes in the cab
Each driver must carry an instruction sheet for transferring logs to an officer, an instruction sheet for malfunctions, and blank paper log grids for at least 8 days (49 CFR 395.22(h)). The ELD user’s manual is no longer required in the cab: FMCSA dropped that requirement effective July 22, 2026 (Federal Register). Our post on ELD rule changes tracks what else is pending.
If the ELD malfunctions
The driver notes the malfunction, gives the carrier written notice within 24 hours, rebuilds the current day and the previous 7 days on paper unless the records can be pulled from the ELD, and keeps paper logs until the device is fixed. The carrier must act to correct the malfunction within 8 days (49 CFR 395.34). Carriers also keep logs and supporting documents for 6 months, with a backup copy of ELD records on a separate device. How to get Simplex ELD
You can order online or talk to our ELD team first. Online, you buy one hardware unit for each power unit and a prepaid annual subscription for each driver, then choose a 9-pin or 6-pin adapter. Orders ship in 3 business days, and overnight delivery is available for an extra cost.
